Event Details

In a partnership between Belmont Merchants Association, Hampton Inn @ Montcross, Belmont Abbey College and the Carolina Marines, we will be hosting a candlelight vigil to honor active, reserve, guard, former and retired military members as well as memorializing any military member killed in the line of duty.

Support/honor your loved one, friend, family member by purchasing a luminary and then join us at Belmont Abbey College's "Abbey Lane" as we spell out "SEMPER FI" with all of the candles.  Semper Fi or Semper Fidelis is latin for "Always Faithful".  We will remain always faithful to our military members and their families!

Candles may also be purchased during the Friday Night Live event held in downtown Belmont before the vigil.

All funds raised through this vigil will be donated to Operation Homefront of North Carolina providing emergency financial assistance to military families in North Carolina.

This event is being organized in conjunction with the 5th Annual Marine Mud Challenge at Belmont Abbey College which is being held on Sept 10th, 2011.  See our website for more info: http://5thmarinemudrun.eventbrite.com
